About the Author

Eric Shorter was born in the Bronx in 1967. His poetry and essays have been published in Frank151, Mugshot Magazine, The Passionfruit Review, and Intellectual Refuge under the pen name of EJS. His poem 08262006 was chosen by T.R. Hummer to appear in an Open Mic Anthology from Jacar Press, and his chapbook "Now Like Knew" was selected runner up to the Cave Canem 2019 Toi Derricotte & Cornelius Eady prize. An audio EP Record entitled 'Decades A Part To Play' was released by Birs Recordings. It features his complete book, "Ageless Turning Carousel" and a "Suite for Four Sonnets". He is a recipient of the Lord Buckley Award from Jack Mueller's National Poetry Association, and fragments of his writing can be found in a permanent art installation by Diane Samuels at Brown University. Eric resides in Maplewood, NJ.
